New Mexico Cultures Course

Course Instructor

Fredrick Sandoval, MPA, Cultural and Linguistic Competency Trainer. Mr. Sandoval is an authorized trainer for the New Mexico Board of Social Work Examiners. He has been providing training on Cultural Considerations and Culturally Informed Practices to licensed social workers, counselors, therapists, and peer support workers for over 10 years. Mr. Sandoval brings over 40 years of experience in the behavioral health field. He was the first Hispanic to serve as the Vice President of the national board of directors of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). He has advised US presidents, state governors, congressional members and members of the New Mexico Legislature on behavioral health policy.  He currently serves as the Chair of the Regional Health Equity Council-Region VI and various national, state and local boards, committees, and consortiums. He is the Executive Director of the National Latino Behavioral Health Association (NLBHA)
